'Cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles
If I could just see you
If I could just hold you

OUR STORY
Caius and Jess’ love story began in 2019. It was her birthday weekend and she was having drinks at Draftland when he arrived with some of their mutual friends. Being the music connoisseur he is, Caius asked about her favorite genre, and was instantly smitten when he found out she loves trance (and not just the mainstream kind). They ended up talking all night like old friends, despite being strangers only hours before, and Caius knew he had found someone special.
Jess, on the other hand, wasn't sure she wanted a relationship. She enjoyed spending time and talking with Caius, but was focused on living in the moment while grieving losing her dad. Caius, persistent yet patient, found hope when the world paused in 2020. With travel and social plans on hold, Jess ended up spending more time at Caius’ place than her own, which naturally led to a romantic connection—without ever having a “first date.”
They soon moved in together, adopted their fur-baby Ashes, and started dreaming about post-COVID travels. In 2022, they packed up their stuff and set off on an epic six-month trip around the world, visiting friends and creating new memories. Realizing they could handle anything together, they knew their love was built to last.
Five years, three apartments, and countless adventures later, Jess and Caius can't wait to celebrate their love with a big party in Barcelona, surrounded by their closest friends and family!

The Proposal
Caius' proposal to Jess was anything but a surprise. She's usually too observant to be caught off guard, so they decided to take the pressure off by picking the ring and planning their trip to the Maldives together. Still, Caius wanted the timing to be a real surprise.
After two gloomy days and a secret photoshoot scheduled, the clock was ticking. But to Caius’ dismay, the safe with the ring wouldn’t open that morning. When a hotel staff member came to help, Jess knew something was up, but pretended not to notice.
Later, during a morning yoga session on the beach, Caius set up a camera and mic under the guise of filming "for content." While Jess was distracted, he clipped on the mic, pulled out the ring, and walked into frame.
With the ocean waves behind him, Caius got down on one knee, expressed his love and excitement for their future, and asked Jess to marry him. She said yes!

Meet The Wedding Party

James Chiang
(Best Man)
Caius met James in fifth grade and they immediately became close friends, a friendship that was shortened when James moved to Shanghai two years later. But to both of their surprise, they would reunite almost six years later at Boston University where they spent two years in the same classes and then a further two years as roommates. Though they might not live in the same city together anymore, their brotherhood remains strong to this day.

Athena Tam
Athena and Caius have many hazy memories together going out back during their younger days in Lan Kwai Fong. While those days are behind them, Athena, or Teeny as she is known to her close friends, has always been a rock for Caius. A friend that he can always trust with anything, when they hang out the hours just fly by because there's never a shortage of cheery and meaningful conversation.

Lawrence Lee
Caius and Lawrence both went to the same high school but never really knew each other. It was only by chance that Caius saw Lawrence at a music festival in Hong Kong that they had their first real conversation. That convo led to Lawrence joining Caius' friend group (which included his future wife!) and the two becoming tight knit friends, geeking out over Star Wars and raving about Porter Robinson.

Roshan Mahtani
It was a packed club in Hong Kong in 2018 as Illenium was performing in Hong Kong for the first time. Caius spotted the only person in the crowd wearing an Illenium jersey and knew that he had to talk to him. His name was Roshan and through this shared love for one of their favorite artists, a close friendship was born. There's rarely ever a moment when these two aren't sharing new music with one another or planning for the next festival stop.

Celine Lau
(Maid of Honor)
Celine and Jess first met in high school watching their exes play basketball, which later led to many nights at Club ING, hours in the arcade playing DanceManiaX & Beatmania, and more shared friend groups than they can count. Jess considers Celine one of her oldest and closest friends, knowing that she'll always be ready to give late-night advice through long walls of text. Even though they now live across the world from each other, they always make time to reconnect when they're in the same city.

Rebecca Jean Wong
Jess met Rebecca through their yoga teaching, instantly connecting over their playful energy and love for spicy noodles. Despite their height difference, people often confuse them for each other - so much so that Rebecca calls Jess her mini. They’ve supported each other’s growth over the years, often standing in as each other's guinea pig when teaching new things. You can find them in deep conversations about their cats, losing track of time together, or singing along to 2000s R&B in Chair Pose.

Vicente Lam
Jess and Vicente's friendship began in 2011 as colleagues and deskmates, where they would find every excuse to get out of the office "for work". Although that phase was brief, their friendship has remained strong, and he’s become a constant presence in Jess' life, even earning the title of Ashes’ unofficial godfather. They've created amazing memories together over the years and shared many dance floors from Pattaya to Berlin. Vicente’s loyalty and humor make him truly irreplaceable.

Mel Wenko
Mel and Jess have been friends since they were 17, spending their teenage years taking over Hong Kong’s nightlife together and making memories. These days, they catch up on weekly walks along the harbor, reminiscing about millennial nostalgia, shared friends, and the places they used to love. Whether they’re trading life advice, supporting each other through challenges, or just sharing a laugh over silly cat videos, time always flies when they’re in each other's company.
Additional Roles

Benjamin Yeung
(Officiant)
Ben has been an important part of Jess’s life for over two decades. Their friendship, built on mutual trust, respect, and a shared history, has seen them through many different chapters of life—from sneaking into clubs as teens and throwing cocktail parties in Ben's living room, to supporting each other through their major milestones as adults. No matter how much time passes or how apart they are—whether it's Jess flying to Shanghai to visit Ben during his study abroad or Ben's last minute trip to Vegas for Jess' first EDC—they always make time for each other and pick up right where they left off.
Jess and Caius feel incredibly honored to have Ben play such a meaningful role on their special day!

Ashes
(Matron of Boops)
Our favorite ball of fur will unfortunately not be attending our special day, but we’d be remiss not to mention her here.
We adopted Ashes, an ex-breeder mama, in 2021 after Jess had been wanting to fill the cat-shaped hole in her life left by Faust for years. Although she was timid and shy at first, she quickly made herself the queen of the household, winning our hearts with her constant affectionate boops and loving personality. We can't imagine our lives without her fur on all our clothes, her loud snores in the background when we're watching TV, and how she always finds the perfect place to plop between us. Ask any of our friends who've met her and they'll tell you that they fell in love with her instantly.

THINGS TO DO
Barcelona has stolen our hearts (and our bellies), and we're excited to share a few of our favorite spots with you. These are the places we keep coming back to, where we've made unforgettable memories.

SIGHTSEEING
Sagrada Familia
Perhaps Barcelona's most famous site, Gaudí’s cathedral has been under construction since the 1800s, set to finish around 2026. The interior amazes with stained glass and intricate statues. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's a must-see at least once.

SIGHTSEEING
Parc de la Ciutadella
Ciutadella Park is Barcelona's main green space with a majestic fountain, centuries-old trees, and unique monuments by famous 19th century Catalan artists. Experience a slice of local life with a leisurely stroll around the park or a boat ride on the lake. Don't miss the famous Arc de Triomf around the corner!

DAY TRIPS
Montserrat
Also just a one hour's train ride from Barcelona is Montserrat, the home of the Montserrat Monastery. Be sure to take the cable car to the top of the mountain - we promise that the breathtaking views of the Spanish countryside will leave you in awe of Catalonia's beauty.

DINING
bicos Restaurant
Our favorite accidental find! We stumbled upon this spot one night and instantly fell in love with the food, especially the zamburiñas, or grilled baby scallops with mango ali-oli (we always order seconds!). Reserve ahead; it’s small and usually busy. It's also next to La Sagrada Familia so you can pair it with your visit.

SIGHTSEEING
Gothic Quarter & El Born
Barcelona’s “Old Town” is a maze of where history and modernity blend seamlessly. Wander through medieval alleyways, discover vibrant boutiques and cool art galleries, and savor tapas in hidden squares. P.S. It's where we had our pre-wedding photoshoot!

SIGHTSEEING
Park Güell
We love wandering through Gaudí’s whimsical park, filled with vibrant mosaics and enchanting columns inspired by nature. The lush greenery and charming Catalan houses are perfect for a magical afternoon stroll. Go for sunset if you can!

DAY TRIPS
Girona
Just a one hour's train ride from Barcelona, Girona is a colorful city and endlessly walkable. The city's charm lies in its well-preserved medieval architecture perfect for getting lost in its historic beauty, especially if you're a Game of Thrones fan!

DINING
La Papa
In a city where most restaurants don't open until lunchtime, this café is our breakfast go-to! We highly recommend the truffle mushroom toast - so good that when Caius ordered it on their first visit, Jess had food envy and demanded we go back the next day for seconds.

SHOPPING
Passeig de Gràcia
Spain is the home of some of the biggest brands in the world, including Zara, Loewe, Massimo Dutti, and more so make sure you leave room in your suitcase for shopping! Don’t forget to bring your passport and request a tax free form from the store for VAT refund when you leave the country!

If you choose to make your own way to the venue, we recommend using a rideshare service such as FreeNow, Uber, or Bolt.
-
Is there parking onsite? We do not recommend renting a car in Barcelona as it is not easy to find parking in the city. However if you do choose to drive, there is free parking onsite at Castell de Sant Marçal. Please be reminded that you will need an international driving permit in order to drive in Spain.
-
Why did you choose to get married in Barcelona? If you know Jess, you'll know that she has an irrational love for old, historic architecture. Long story short, she saw a photo of Castell de Sant Marçal, fell in love - now here we are! Although we have no sentimental ties to the city, we always knew that we'd be back one day after spending two weeks in Barcelona during our trip around the world in 2022. We can't wait to come back and create new memories with our friends!
-
How long should I stay in Barcelona? We would recommend guests to arrive no later than July 1st, and to stay for at least 2 nights to be able to attend all the wedding festivities! For those planning to stay longer, Barcelona has plenty to offer. We will probably also try to go to one of Barcelona's many summer music festivals the weekend after the wedding - feel free to join us if that's your vibe!
-
What will the weather be like?Barcelona typically enjoys warm and sunny weather in early July. Temperatures usually range from 22°C to 30°C (72°F to 86°F). The sun typically sets around 9:15pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the daylight.
-
Do I need a visa to travel to Spain? If you are a holder of a passport from Hong Kong, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or the European Union you do not to need to apply for a tourist visa for entry into Spain. Other countries not listed above might require a visa for entry. Please make sure to check with your embassy or consulate whether you need to apply for a visa. The European Union will also begin to enact the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (or ETIAS) sometime in 2025, however there is no set date for when this will go into effect. An application form plus a fee of €7 must be completed and linked to the passport you are traveling with before you depart. This authorization is valid for three years or until your passport expires.

I've heard a lot about pickpocketing in Barcelona. How can I make sure my belongings are safe?Barcelona does have a lot of pickpockets, particularly in the Las Ramblas neighborhood, so always make sure to have an eye on your belongings, especially when eating outdoors. Never leave anything unattended to. We would suggest buying a strap for your phone that you can wear around your neck and avoid walking around while looking down at your phone.
